ABSTRACT

The Diamondback moth (DBM), Plutella xylostella is the important pest for cabbage over the world. Control of pest using Steinernema carpocapsae and Bacillus thuringiensis had been applied. The best of mass production medium is by using soya flour with concentration of inoculums at 350.000 IJs in 27 oC can produce 447.596 IJs/gram medium. Otherwise, the egg yolk medium at 25 oC given 341.919 IJs/gram medium, it is higher from the concentrate (246.476 IJs/gram medium) in the same temperature. Virulence of S. carpocapsae from the third medium is not significant. In the field application, the fluctuation of DBM is on economic threshold and treatment cannot press the population until under economic threshold. The intensity of damage made by P. xylostella is 70% at profenofos insecticide treatment (PI) and the smallest (31%) at the treatment that use the combination of EPN and B. thuringiensis (PAE2). Crop production from combination of EPN and B. thuringiensis (PAE1) give higher weight (513,15) that Profenofos insecticide (189,5 g).
